We have a friend that is involved in 4-H and has talked the girls into joining. She decided that the girls needed to hatch some eggs, so she got us an incubator and 11 Bantam ( the smaller sized chickens) eggs and 21 days later we were mothers. Only 3 of the 11 hatched out it was amazing to watch, one hatched early in the morning Shem got to watch it before he went to seminary. When we told the girls you would have thought it was Christmas morning. They shot out of bed and rocketed down stairs. For the rest of the day the eggs were watched like a hawk. The second one hatched in the afternoon and the third in the evening. They are Cochins which means they have feathers on their feet, the girls call them disco feet. We think we have 1 boy and 2 girls which is good for showing at the fair. They are fun to watch they have such personality. So here they are Peepers, BBQ, and Disco.
